We've had quite a bad time with our son  in the last few weeks. He's quite violent and difficult to handle. School and the place he boards have had problems too.
His sw told us to use the emergency respite bed, (the unit is ionly 20 mins away from our house) This place has been a lifesaver for us in the past, before he got his residential place.
I've always found the staff very very good, the staff stay so they must be happy working there.
Anyway my hubby is working today and tomorrow all day, so he said phone the respite place, (our son had kicked off at school two staff had to escort him out to the mini bus) he was in a foul mood.
I phoned and was pased on to to a man who i have met once, he was at our sons last LAC review, where he had said it was fine to bring him up for a visit if he was kicking off. Anyway he was reeally funny with me. He said he can't come up every week-end! We only have him at week-ends so we don't want him to go. I told him the sw had told me to ring. He said i will ahve to ring you back, as the emergency bed is booked! How can an emergency bed be booked??? What is an emergency? I would say a melt down or a burst pipe, heating packing in etc.
He phoned me back and said i can take him today at 4pm untill 6pm. That is fine for me, i have explained it to our son and hes happy.
His attitude has really got my blood boiling. Me and my hubby are easy going and we don't like asking for help.
I hope hes on duty when i go up at 4. gif

I don't get the emergency bed bit either

unless someone had rang just before you i know the night my dad passed away.  Rob received a call there were two emergency places for Loui and david if he needed them.  It gave him a chance to explain to joey who was the only one with the ability to understand what was happening.

Tbh i have never been offered an emergency place for melt downs, despite having teeth kicked out, being pushed down the stairs and having to rush joey to A&E, so though not perfect sounds like pretty good services you have in that area.

Not much consolation right now i know, hope his visit calms him lesley

good luck  gif

When i got home, the phone was ringing at it was the respite place saying the lad who they got in to look after him would drop him off at home for me at 6pm i was very grateful.
I phoned my mother-in-law to tell her i wouldn't be needing a lift from father-in-law, and she told me my husbands uncle was on on his way to the rugby, and had suffered a heart attack. He's ok, hes in hospital.
Could you pray, (if you do pray) for uncle Terry? He';s supposed to be coming to see Queen and Paul Rodgers with us  in a couple of weks. He's only in his late 50's so its given us a wake up call.
