I'd like to recommend the following books, each of which I found to be 'unputdownable'...
Stranger on a Train by Jenny Disky which is the account of her travels by train and sea and the people she met on the way.It won the Thomas Cook travel book award and the JR Ackerley prize for autobiography.I read it all in one go and just couldn't put it down.
Tony and Cherie by Paul Scott, behind the scenes in Downing St.Very enlightening!!
Attention all Shipping by Charlie Connolly.A journey round the areas of the shipping forecast.Sounds boring but is a very good read indeed.
These are probably not the obvious choice of books for most people but I found them so good that I just had to share them,I got them out of the library.
Any other suggestions??
