There's this stuff on the market called 'benecol' which is a sort of margarine, but they claim it reduces your bad cholesterol.

Well I got to thinking, what if you don't use margarine on your butties anyway? I'm quite happy with a pilchard buttie with plenty of lemon juice but no marge.

Does the mere eating of the stuff actually *reduce* your cholesterol, or is it just not as bad as ordinary margarine for raising it..

In other words should I start using it or would I be better sticking with the completely marge-less pilchard butties?

I dont think it activly lowers your colesterol....just not as high as normal marge..........

If you dont have any atall then your realy lowering your colesterol.........

of couse the main advantage to having 0% spread on pilchard butties is they tend to stay fixed to the bread as there is no artificialy high viscosity created from the spred causing the pilchards to slip out the other end when you take a bite.......
