Has you know my dad is very ill, yesterday he was discharged from the hospital and fetched home



First a mattress was supposed to be delivered and inflated in the morning then my dad was supposed to arrive in the afternoon.

Well the mattress arrived and was being inflated when  the phone rang it was the sister my dad had been released in the morn ing and had just set out in the ambulance.  Has she spoke the ambulance pulled up in front of the house.  So the bed wasn't ready for him and once he was settled time to unpack his bags.  No medication or pads in the bag.  So a phonecall to the hospital and told we can pick up the meds at three it isn't even dinnertime.

by nine that night the district nurse still hadn't shown, and the meds we finally received from the hospital were paracetamol 500mg yeah the kind you buy over the counter.

This is the man in the final stages of cancer to weak to sit up most of the time and his throat that sore, his voice has gone, yet the gave him those to swallow.

He has worked damned hard all his life and paid his stamp, how can they treat him like this 

So sorry to hear that Cas It must be so frustrating. Is he having MacMillan nurses or any home care?

 The MacMillan nurses looked after my dad at home and were excellent. Sorted his pain relief, kept him comfortable and helped my mum cope a lot xxx

they were supposed to get in touch yesterday and didn't fingers crossed they will do today

Sure they will now he's actually home

Oh cas i feel for you.....he and you should not have to cope with this level of care

My nan had a Macmillan nurse and they were great so I hope they get themselves sorted

Cas, what an awful situation. I can only imagine how upset you must be. I am so sorry and I hope things will improve,

as  thats terrible....when Mags came home in a similar situation, everything was in place  the McMillan Nurse couldnt do enough for us

well they finally sorted my dad out with his morphine today

so hopefuly he will be in less pain

That's good news Marvelous stuff that morphine
