my Loui has suddenly become obsessed about flicking light switches on and off repeatedly and very fast
someone told me he runs the risk of started an electric fire if he doesn't blow the fuse box first
is this true please

No, cas......cant see any reason for that to start a fire......it may well cause the bulb to fail early ....which would probably result in the trip switch operating which is a pain in the ass......but as to starting a fire ...not in my opinion.

I agree with Bazza hun, just check that the light switch is firm on the wall, should it be loose it could dislodge the wiring but doubt it very much.
you could use the situation to teach him not to do it, the bulb will eventually fail, if you make a bit of an issue that he's broken the light and dont replace the bulb for a few hours/days it may make him realise that what he's doing will cause them all to break.

square = good
round ones are likely to be a bit old, bit brittle.. & because of that maybe break open with rough handling in extreme circumstances.
but they're not so that's good.
