Don't laugh but I cant remember the last time I went to Liverpool, now I have my old codgers free travel pass I thought I would go and have a look round.

So what's to look at, what station would be the best to get off from, where should I go?

I can go as far as Chester on my pass so the worlds my oyster, even better is I can go the other way now into Lancashire FREE! gif

My mates uncle has had his pass for a few months and he goes EVERYWHERE......... gif

If going to Liverpool the best bet is the trian from Chaple Street..takes 40 mins to Lverpool Central....your right in the center then......

I went to Liverpool last week and the amount the city has changed is astonishing....and there still at it......

Liverpool is full if greart architecture....and even better musium/gallerys....and there within a few mins waliking distance of the city center....

The World Musium is a MUST........ gif

Qwackz is right - Liverpool Central is only a few minutes walk from the museums & the art gallery as well  - and you can pause to admire St George's Hall on the way.

This is well worth a visit - it's great fun & you can get hands on with some of the exhibits  gif

thanks guys, is the pier head in reach from there or is that another trip? I can go on the ferry to Birkenhead for free too, being an old git is starting to pay off.

I must get me a map of Liverpool so I can find my way round.

My Grand Daughter has just moved to Chester so thats another free trip to make, not been there for 30 years or so and that was only to the zoo with the kids.

As you come out of Central Staition, directly over the road is Clayton Square Shopping Center......

Walk through it and then onwards, vereing left past the Becon Tower (cant miss it)......Turn next right, walk up and you will come to the Tourist Information Center and the bus terminus......... gif

We go at least once a month on the train from St Helens. Caesers Palace opposite the big lewis's is great for something to eat. You can have a snack or a full meal. The ice cream is to die for! loads of different flavours.
The new shops are brilliant too. Hubs takes our son most wek-ends to the docks and for a bite to eat near the water.

Id defo get the train to liverpool........40 mins...there all modern and clean now days.......

The bus takes about 1 1/2 hours........47 or 48 from the stop opposit the Vincent on Lord Street.....

It will drop you off in the city center by the tourist info center and bus terminus...however it dosent pick up from there to return home.....

You need to slog yourself around to Parradise Street terminus for the return 47 or 48........20 mins walk......bay 3.....

The x2 Stagecoach if your pass will allow you goes from the Monument back of Wollys.......and stops in the city center as above........

It also picks up from there to return back home.............. gif
