I put up a thread re; i was pleased a cd i had been waiting for had arrived as my 3yr old had enjoyed the film, a 'friendly' member of this site claimed due to his budhist beliefs he wud be happy to give me a copy of the associated film on dvd he offered to either deliver it or post it for me, not thinking (as this is such a friendly site, plus head being preoccupied with other things) I gave this member my address to post them to.

Having now read the 'Admin' thread I cant believe how foolish I was, since then I have discovered through another popular Southport Forum site that even though this was a genuine offer made to me, this person has criminal convictions which every parent should be aware of in case they should come into contact with this person.

After this site discovered said information also, they have banned this member, due to protecting there members.

I have received dvds today in an enveloped covered in kiddy foil fish stickers (weird to be sending to a 34yr old woman) with his name and full address labels all over back of it.

If anybody would like the true facts of this situation they can PM me or email me, I will not be involved in finger pointing or implying things as this other Popular Southport Forum has done research and has links to this 'Banned member on there site and this site' from Media publications, which says all that needs to be said.

Just read what admin says and think twice it is easy when ur busy looking after ur kids to remember every single detail to stay safe, but common sense is always important, I have learnt this I hope xx

Can i assure you than this man is no longer a member and access by him to this site has been forbidden.

The admin team at Southport Friends are fully confident we handled the matter in the best way possible.  we fully co -operated with Southport forums to ensure that we all took the best means possible to alert members to be vigilent.

Can i just state also for legal reasons that although we acted on the information we received concerning this member, no actual crimes were committed on this site.  No children at any time whats so ever had contact with this person via this site

I think it best now that we all remember the risks we take on the internet and remain  always aware of stranger danger.
