Has you know David is leaving his present school in september

they have been so good to him and i would like to show my gratitude, but as with most autism units there are always at least four members of staff employed

any idea's what i could buy them without breaking the bank

life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a well preserved, perfect body- rather we should skid in sideways, vodka in one hand, chocolate in the other, body thoroughly used up, screaming WOO HOO! What a ride!

I went to a coffee morning the other week.

all the teachers came dashing up they were still trying to get it in their heads David was leaving them, he was their first ever pupil with autism.  He started the main stream nursery a little lad of three, they weren't quite sure what to do with him it was a learning curve for all.  But they learned and even applied for an autism unit and won.  It was built just in time for David to enter his reception year there, and again as he reached juniors another autism unit was built just in time.

Theres not another child in that school who hasn't met david he is quite a character.

His teacher told me his leaving has even been discussed in the staff room and everyone agreed they will never forget david and his hats.  gif

I guess the hats are his trademark so to speak and the grange has seen so many of them through the years Smiley

There are lots of helpers in our sons class. I usually send a big box of Thorntons chocs, or some nice buiscuits so they can all share.

I got Beryl a watch, it was half price in lewis's in Liverpool. I got her an angel statue called keep me in your heart, an address book and matching pen.

It will break my heart on Friday knowing its her last day. The sad thing is our son will just walk off and not look back at her. I'm going to look for a nice card today.

Do you know Lesley i think it's the last bit of your post that is getting to me.

They have been such a huge part of his life, and i know he will just walk away.

Even after all these years still sometimes find it hard to take.

Cas, seeing how all the teachers seem to know him, how about, as Lurks suggested a picture of David, and bearing his mind I don't know his capability, I message or a picture from David included in the frame, that could go up in the staff room and then do the wine or chocs to the four main carers?
