Three weeks ago I decided enough was enough, I've had enough of the weeds that keep growing inbetween the flags in my garden so I put cement in the gaps.
I used a dry mix, half sand and half cement, brushed it in to the gaps, damped it slightly and left it alone.
Now then....the problem I have is that the weeds have grown through it! Does anyone know where I have gone wrong cos that was my last option, cant use weedkiller because of my dogs so any advice would be gratefully recieved! gif

You can use weedkiller ser....most are safe for pets and kids once its dried...I 've used roundup which is pretty good and comes with a spray gun to aim at specific weeds

Not easy I know hun, but it's best to totally remove the weed manually, otherwise weeds will regrow though anything unfortunately.

there is a weedkiller a bit like a large lipstick, you wipe it on the weed and it eventually kills it, well for a short time anyway, it will come back eventually though. gif

if you killed it with weedkiller you'd have the same hole in the grass, either way the grass will grow to cover it in no time.

for weeds in lawns though, you can use a weed and feed, they work great too. gif

I find sodium chlorate is good but it might not be suitable for areas with pets. It kills everything stone dead in a few days and leaves the remains bone dry, a quick waft with a blowtorch and the tufts are gone. It leaves the soil barren for a couple of years after which.. the weeds do start coming through again if you don't re-treat.
