After a shedful of tests it turns out my health is being hampered by my blood.   Apparently despite a healthy diet and supplements my blood in the state of an eighty year old woman's.

This isn't doing me any favours they actually re tested me for ME again fearing it could well be MS, as i display a lot of the symptoms a person with this condition does.

I'm averaging four hours sleep, have been in pain without any good days since around march i need to do something drastic

the docs are gonna take regular level checks on me and have prescribed even more B12 along with stronger pain killers and advised i include a little red meat in my diet  gif

I haven't touched meat for over 25 years, but had a real dressing down today and told if things don't improve i am going to end up hospitalised.

Also another round of dietetics's tests to face next Tuesday  gif

Im no expert but there are things provided in meat such as fats and proteins that the bodie needs...........

and people whom dont have these things run into alsorts of problems due to there un-ballanced diet.....

I think being a non meat eater is above all a principle and moral choice...

Why put your health at risk for that.......

Cas I know your principals and the reasons you dont eat meat, having to break those must be very hard for you, but if they are damaging your health then maybe you need to compromise somewhere in you diet.

If it's not possible to substitute meat with supplements then for the sake of you and the boys you must try and eat something new.

Easier said than done but getting off the cigs might help in a number of ways that don't need listing because we're all bored to death with the daily litany from the anti brigade.

They are annoyingly quite correct though. Less destruction of whatever nutrients you have got in your system, and better uptake of what's available in your diet..

I think when it comes to the time it's affecting your health you've got to consider including some in your diet.

There are so many recipes and sauces to try that might be a better way then just a chunk of meat on your plate gif

Good luck with all your tests gif

Totaly agree Jack.......... gif
Its that idea of that willl probobly be the biggest obstical to overcomne.....and maybe the reason for becomeing a vegetarian in the first place.....

Id go for somrthing familiar looking like a pasta bolognase............

I have a friend whose vegetarian and she has no problems cooking meat of all kinds for her flat mates......she dosent mind the smell of it cooking either....its just the idea of eating meat that she dosent like....

I am so with you on this one cas, I have been veggie for over 20 years. it is not a moral stance it is about chewing flesh ! I cook it for my husband and children and love the smell of bacon but the thought of eating it makes me feel sick. If you medicaly need to eat it and choose to I would make it up in a bolognaise and blend it so it was purreed and try it that way to begin with but I dont envy you.good luck  gif gif

What about drinks like bovril.. I really don't know anything medical but from school biology it would seem logical that that sort of thing might be able to supply some of what you're missing.. up to a degree maybe? I guess a dietician would be able to say yay or nay.

Whether you'd find bovril any more palatable than meat itself well, that's another matter I guess  gif

well really really tried to eat a bolognaise

but couldn't, i was a bit of a rebel when younger one of the students who thought they could change the world

I've chained myself to tree's, placed myself facedown on roads, stopped fox hunts  and raided battery farms

think i have to many mental pictures in my head to do it this way

so will i ill try to quit smoking and book to see a dietitian.
