When its a clear night and ilet the dog/cat out it amazes me just whats up there.................... Thinking of getting a half decent teliscope so i can potter with it.....Sumot like this for starters...................   Phase 76 x 700 reflector telescope 700mm focal length. 76mm mirror. Altazimuth mount. Micro altitude adjustment. Heavy-duty adjustable tripod. 1.25" eyepieces 5mm/12mm/25mm. 2.4 x Barlow lens. 5 x 24 finder scope. Moon filter.

Hubby has one of those. He built it himself. He also runs a forum all about it with members from all over the world.
We used to go to the observatory in Hesketh Park with the Southport Astronomical Society as he was a member.
Other times just used it in the garden. It was fantastic on a clear night and the kids enjoyed it too.
Hubby was so interested he took a degree in Astrophysics so officially he's an Astrophysisist. Not sure if that how you spell it as I'm the thicky in the family.
