I keep foreign finches, this year I decided not to let them breed, it's simple, just don't give them any nesting materials and they wont breed, or so I thought.

This little pair of Zebra finches found some bits of news paper and a couple of leaves and made a nest of it.

Dad sits on the chicks.

3 chicks are in there somewhere.

You can just see them now, they are the little fluffy things in this piccie.

This was as close as I could get, zoomed in.

The chicks have flown the nest.

Mum and Dad keep an eye on them.

Dads on nursery duty.

So their landings aren't much good yet.

At least this one made it to a tree.

Eventually onto a branch.

The chicks are getting adventurous now.

It's not easy balancing on a branch when you're a chick.

It's even harder on a swing.

Ain't they beautiful?
