Russia 40 years ago

We had a contractor doing a job at home today and it reminded me of an in joke about Russia from way back about 40 years ago, one or two here might remember it.

In Russia then there was no hire purchase and manufactured good were in short supply.  A bloke had saved up enough money to buy a brand new car so he went to the showroom and paid for it, he then asked the salesman when will it be delivered.  The sales man said exactly five years from today and we will bring it around to your home.  The customer said will that be in the morning or the afternoon.  The salesman said it's in five years time so why are you worrying about morning or afternoon?  Customer replied "well the plumber's coming in the morning".
