This is a board for those who feel confident enough to use various anti-spyware, anti-malware, anti-virus and anti-adware scanners to troubleshoot sub-par performance on their own computers.

Sometimes an "infected" or "broken" PC will not respond to the usual one-click methods of uninstalling what you have identified as a damaged or badly-written piece of software via Windows Control Panel's built-in "Add/Remove Programs" tool.

Or, sometimes, a free antivirus, spyware or malware scanner will detect a threat, but although it will tell you all about it, it won't remove it on it's own. You are left to discover the actual remedy for yourself gif

In this board we collect bespoke tools and methods available for attempting to remove such stubborn threats.

We'll add tools to this board as we find them, but if you have a specific requirement, then feel free to post a request.

The information we will need in order to find the correct tool / procedure for you, will be:

- the name of your computer's operating system (Win98, XP, Vista etc..)
- the version of your operating system (Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2, etc.. if known)
- the exact text of the infection report given by your antivirus / antimalware / antispyware program
- or, the exact name and full version number of the bad software you want to remove.

The more info and the more accurate info you can give, the better..
