I spent to many Christmas's in a drunken haze to drown the sorrow

then Kev my savior, my mentor, my second dad

sobered us up one year and made us work in a refuge on Christmas day

I always carry a bit of extra cash now the week leading up to Christmas to give to those sat on the streets

everyone has a story

the place Kev sent us to had so many people who looked just like bums till you sat and took the time to listen to their stories

forgot to add how much does it cost to wrap a few pair of gloves or a scarf in wrapping paper and just hand them over, cost me next to nothing but shows someone there is hope whenn a stranger hands you over an unexpected present
