This is a very easy recipe, the only problem is that the biscuits do not keep (unless you lock them up very securely).
COMBINE AND MIX THE FOLLOWING WELL
200 gms soft butter (take out of fridge well before to reach room tremperature. 2 cups of light brown sugar (well packed into the cup) 1 cup ordinary sugar 2 tablespoons of water 2 tablespoons vinegar (white or brown) 1 teaspoon vanilla
MIX THE FOLLOWING WELL TOGETHER
1 cup raisins, rolled in flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoons baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 2 cups quick cooking oats 2½ cups plain white flour ½ cup LSA
LSA stands Linseed, Sunflower & Almonds in the ratio 3:2:1 and all ground together but any roughage would do just to give the biscuits a bit of body.
Mix all the above together well.
Preheat oven to 190C, about 170C for fan forced. Bake for 10-12 minutes, the biscuits will not look but let them stand for 5-10 minutes and they will be nice and chewy.
These biscuits cost a fortune to buy but they are quite inexpensive and easy to make.
