Southport Friends is a chat forum that has the added bonus of a games arcade. Although no post count is necessary to play in the arcades we do prefer it if members make the occasional post. Note that the admin team do periodically clear the forum memberlist of inactive accounts.

A note on Internet Safety.
Here at Southport Friends we have a policy of looking out for one another where possible, but unfortunately nothing in life is 100% safe and the Internet is no exception. It can allow a level of anonymity at the user level, making it hard to really know who you are talking to in a messageboard when you initially encounter them, so deception becomes easier. This means that online contact has the potential to result in harmful or exploitative contact in real life.
Except for those of us who are already familiar off-line, we converse on-line only with personas constructed behind avatars. Whilst in most cases the personality behind the avatar is genuine and will broadly match that of their realworld creator, unfortunately there can be those online with a hidden agenda who are most likely going to come across as also being OK.
We at Southport Friends do work actively and closely as a team, and use our contacts with other local Internet sites, in order to try to the best of our abilities to protect our members. We do not tolerate, and will cooperate to the fullest extent with the authorities to unmask, those with malign intent. But your own vigilance and care is your first line of defence.
Think twice before giving out your realworld contact details or photograph to those you have only just begun contact with. A great way to meet other posters offline for the first time in safety is as part of a group - ask a mod or admin when the next get-together is planned.
