Went for a little drive yesterday to find somewhere for lunch for a change and ended up at The Martin Inn Burscough..The fact that it was empty was a bit worrying .There was only a couple of locals in but we had some lunch there and it was great

Dave had the Roast  and I had mixed grill ....both huge plates full and very good.

Last time I went there was about 10 years ago, time flies, it was empty then too.. lovely place though

Was there at some bizarre time though like half four in the afternoon.

We drove past there last week and noticed it very empty. It used to be really nice, it`s a shame

Back in my mum and dads time, the Martin Inn was the place to be....LIVE !!!!! I have very fond memories of the place having spent many a Sunday in there over the years...I think it went quiet after John and Diane left, she was the life and soul of the party!!!

We went for lunch today, when we arrived we were the only people in there  :gasp: 1.30 ish! I ordered lamb shank and kids ordered the roast. Took a long time to come seeing as we were the only order in!!!

A couple with a little girl ordered after us and they had as long a wait!

The food itself was lovely, we ordered sweet. They had run out of one the specials so changed order, they only had one piece of chocolate fudge cake left (we wanted 2!) but again to be fair it was lovely when it arrived!!!!

It`s a shame because I think if they had anymore customers it would be chaos!!! and the food was nice

It always takes ages in there but I think everything that can be is pretty much cooked fresh .It was busier on mothers day and they seemed to cope ok

If the "specials" on the desserts were the same as when we went on mothers day then you had a lucky escape ....they were disgusting
