We went to Michaels tonight.
Truly magnificent meal.  Not lashings of food but exceptional quality and was not left feeling hungry.

For starters
I had : Chicken Liver Parfait on Brioche with chutney
He had : Lime infused Mackerel on ratatouie (and something else)

Mains:
I had : Cod wrapped in basil and parma ham with roasted mediteranean veg + new potatoes and pesto.
He had : Goosnargh Chicken stuffed with aubergine + wild mushrooms with tarragon sauce, served on tagliatelli

Desserts:
I had : White & Dark chocolate mousse with raspberries and raspberry coulis
He had : Creme Brulee with something else (I was too busy eating my mousse to bother asking about!)

The quality of the food was wonderful, exact amounts to quell hunger, house wine was acceptable.

Very mellow place, we were in the back, with low arched ceilings and nice lighting.  The dessert was to die for, large disk of plain chocolate with a large dollop of stiff dark mousse surrounded by raspberries, topped with large disk which was topped with white mousse surrounded by raspberries, then finally topped with third round disk of chocolate.  Scrumptious.

Well recommended for special (or any) occasion.
It should cost £16.95 per head for early doors meal deal (inc bottle of house wine between 2)
They didn't charge us for coffee as they said the prize voucher would cover it - they have definitely won two new customers. This prize is going to end up costing us money as I want to go back - and soon!

Went back to Michaels last week for our wedding anniversary.  The food, service and atmosphere, like last time was fantastic - however, at £60+ I think that next time we go it will be on one of the weeknight specials!
