The Pavillion Gardens is i little know peice of Southports Victorian history,it laid beneith where the now "Funland" is sited at the top of Nevile Street......

It was created shortly after the joining and filling of Marine lake in 1895....

It was accessed via "Nevile Street Subway" and was as a waiting are for Horse drawn carridges on the right...stretching under the peir and emerging to the left....

1902....

The Pier Pavilion was built as a multi-purpose venue in 1902.

It was one of the first places in Southport to show films, but it never became a full-time cinema, and was used for the usual typical seaside entertainments.
