ha! ha! you can't see me!

My Grand Daughter has just sent me her dissertation for uni, basically right in the middle the text is half size, all text comes up as Tahoma size 12, but visibly some is half size, I've tried everything I know to rectify this but cant.

I've "selected all" and changed the font and size, but this section always appears about half size, I'm stumped. gif

Anybody got any ideas?

Off the top of my head.. she wrote it on one version of word, and you're viewing it on another?

Microsoft do have a nasty habit of introducing small differences from version to version.. the further apart you are in versions between the copy used to write it and the copy used to read it, the worse..

Then again I really might be totally wide of the mark.. it's just a guess..

You could try searching google for a 'word document repair tool' or something?

Something like this search > CLICKY (although that's a rubbish example).. I think there's a few free ones about

Or if it's not actual damage.. look for hidden control characters ( try selecting a chunk before the 'problem' & delete it all, see hat happens.. try a chunk after it.. try copying the 'damaged bit' out to notepad, save it as a text document, then reopen, copy & paste it back in..

(save the original first of course)

I was trying all those mate, to no avail may I add, when I click the "format painter" icon  gif held down left mouse and dragged it from the large text over the small text and it changed it all to the larger text.

whole document now sorted, but I dont know how other than using the "format painter"

You learn summat new every day eh! gif

I was about to offer you help with format painter but you sorted it. Glad its OK. But don't hesitate to shout if you have any problems.  I am a Word/Excel expert-user.

Thanks Slinky, she didn't know what caused it, would she have clicked format painter without realising or is it something else?
