I've decided that I rather enjoy taking close-ups, so started looking for a suitable lens to carry on with.
Unfortunately they cost around £500, so I've ended up with a set of close-up filters off ebay for a tenner - I just had to try them out today & these are some of the results....

Another flower, but I know this one is a lily

I borrowed some bits from work to have a play...

Not spectacularly interesting subjects, I suppose, but I enjoyed working out the best technique to use for each different shape.

Thanks for looking

That distributor cap is off an Audi, right?

circlip & nut is a good one. sparkplugs too :-)

I've never seen the business end of a diesel injector.. that'd possibly make an interesting subject

dizzy cap is actually for a 4 cylinder engine but has a moisture vent built in which looks like an extra HT connection in the pic (it's fooled everyone so far lol)

I'm very pleased with the nut & circlip pic - almost looks like it's floating in mid air

the business end of a diesel injector is surprisingly uninteresting TBH - might have an old one lurking in my toolbox - will see if I can find it & do a couple of pics

just for Argie I've found an old diesel injector - plan is to do a couple of shots of the outside, then bung it in a vice & see if I can get it apart to get some pics of the innards. It's off an old 1.8 Escort engine as well
